04.29 | Men's Basketball

Maui Invitational tickets are available through Chaminade’s Hui ‘Ahinahina Booster Club, which supports the University’s Athletics Department and our student-athletes.

 

The first Maui Invitational package is available for purchase at the $500 Kilakila level and increases in value and benefits from there. Complimentary packages are available for boosters at the $5,000 Silversword and $10,000 Haleakala levels.

Honolulu, HI- Chaminade’s Mohamed Tangara is headed towards the professional ranks. Tangara joins an ever growing list of former Silverswords taking their game to the pro level.

QUEEN CREEK, AZ The Silverswords placed 19 student athletes on the 2008-09 PacWest Academic All-Conference Team. Chaminade had six repeat honorees.  Four seniors earned the honor for the second year in a row.  Audra Takara(W. Tennis), Krystal Walthour (W. XC), Raechelle Pereira (W. Soccer) and Tyler Pickle (M. XC) concluded their careers with the prestigious honor in both 2008 and 2009.

QUEEN CREEK, AZ – Chaminade junior Layne Morita (Kapaa, HI/Kauai HS) became the first Silversword Men’s golfer to be named to the Pac West All-Conference the conference office announced today.  Morita, who shot a 3 over 219 in the three round Pac West Championships earned Second Team All-Pac West Accolades.

QUEEN CREEK, AZ – Chaminade University senior Audra Takara (Mililani, HI/Mililani) gave the Silverswords their inaugural All-PacWest selection after she claimed Second Team honors the conference announced recently.

 

Takara finished the year with a 7-7 dual-meet singles record playing at the top spot in 13 of Chaminade’s 16 matches. She was 6-7 at first singles to rank fourth in the league in winning percentage (.462).

Brentwood, CA- Chaminade’s Layne Morita took a hard charge at a Pac West Championship today, shooting an even par 72 at Roddy Ranch G.C. in Brentwood.  Only seven players shot under par in the third round and Matthew Garcia of Academy of Art was only four shots ahead of Chaminade’s junior from Kauai at the end of the tournament.

4.20.09 | Men's Golf
Brentwood, CA- Two rounds are in the books at the 2009 Hawaiian Airlines Pac West Championships at Roddy Ranch Golf Course in Brentwood, CA.  The Swords Layne Morita is in contention after shooting a two under 70 in his opening round of the tournament.  The first round 70 was the fifth lowest score of 79 rounds carded on the opening day.
