PHOENIX, AZ – Chaminade freshman Whitney Viveiros (Hilo, HI/Kamehameha-Kapalama) was named to the Pac West Weekly Honor Roll for her strong performances this past week for CUH.
For the third time this year, Hawai'i Hilo senior middle hitter Febiane Seben (Caxias do Sul, Brazil/Guimaraes Junior) was named the Pacific West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The honors were announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, for matches contested from Sept. 28-Oct. 4.
Seben led the Vulcans to a 3-1 week during a four-match road trip to Grand Canyon and Dixie State. She ranked fourth in the league in scoring average (4.68) for the week after recording 65.5 points on 50 kills, seven aces, 11 block assists and three block solos. She ranked third in hitting (.375), fourth in kills per game (3.57), and third in aces per game (0.50). She also tied for fifth in blocks per game (1.00) for the week.

Whitney Viveiros - Chaminade (Fr., 5-10, OH, Hilo, HI/Kamehameha-Kapalama)...ranked ninth in the league for the week in scoring average (3.42)...had 61.5 points on 56 kills, four aces, a block solo and a block assist...ranked sixth in kills per game (3.11) and 10th in digs per game (3.72)...amassed 67 digs on defense.
Laurann Durbin - Grand Canyon (So., 5-7, L, Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope)...led the PacWest in total digs for the week with 78...ranked second in digs per game after averaging 4.88.
Losaline Faka'osi - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-9, OH, Salt Lake City, UT/Highland)...ranked among the offensive and defensive leaders for the week...averaged 3.92 digs per game to rank eight in the league last week...totaled 47 digs on defense...ranked eighth in kills per game (3.07) after spiking down 37 total kills.
Jelena Jakovljevic - Academy of Art (Jr., 6-2, RS, Valjevo, Serbia/Secondary School of Technology)...helped AAU to a 2-1 week by hitting .278 and averaging 4.73 points per game...ranked 10th in hitting and third in scoring in the PacWest for the week...totaled 52 points on 46 kills, four aces and four block assists...also ranked third in kills per game (4.18) for the week...her 0.36 aces-per-game rate ranked eighth in the league.
Shawntell Jones - Hawai'i Pacific (Sr., 5-11, MH, Thornton, CO/Horizon)...helped the Sea Warriors to a 3-1 week by hitting .420 in 14 games...recorded 28 kills and committed just seven errors in 50 total attempts.
Katie Luna - Dixie State (Sr., 5-9, OH, Mesa, AZ/Westwood)...averaged 3.43 points per game to rank eighth for the week in the PacWest...totaled 24 points on 19 kills, three aces and four block assists...tied for fifth in aces per game for the week (0.43).
Gabby Pecora - Dominican (CA) (Sr., 5-10, OH, Sonoma, CA/Justin-Siena)...ranked second for the week in scoring average (4.82 points per game)...totaled 53 points on 47 kills, five aces and a block solo...led the PacWest in digs per game (5.64)...recorded 62 digs...ranked fourth in service ace average (0.45)...also ranked second in kills per game (4.27).
Katie Swenson - Hawai'i Hilo (Jr., 5-9, S, Bellevue, WA/Omaha Gross Catholic)...led the PacWest in assists per game during the week...averaged 12.93 assists per game after totaling 181 in 14 games.
