Honolulu, HI- Chaminade University has announced the 2009 winners for Male and Female Athlete of the Year along with the prestigious Silversword Award.
They are as follows:
Chaminade Male Athlete of the Year
Men’s Golf - Junior - Layne Morita (Kapaa, HI)
Served as Captain of the 2009 Chaminade Men’s Golf Team. Placed in the Top 10 at the PacWest Golf Championships in Brentwood, California with a +3 (217) over three rounds. Placed first in two Pac West Conference matches and runner up in three other matches during the 2009 golf season.
Chaminade Female Athlete of the Year
Womens Volleyball - Senior - Trina Kauliakamoa (Las Vegas, NV)
Captain of the 2009 Chaminade Women’s Volleyball team and named to the PacWest Women’s Volleyball First Team for her third consecutive year. Led the team in kills (3.56 per game) and was the Preseason PacWest Player of the Year.
Silversword Award
X-C and Mens Golf- Sophomore – Sean Wilson (Crown Point, IN)
