In their first match since dropping two games to Hawaii Pacific last weekend, the Chaminade volleyball team was looking to get back on the winning track when they hosted #13 nationally ranked BYU-Hawaii tonight. The Swords were hungry for a win after the HPU series, but the Seasiders had a different idea. They took the match in three games, 30-23, 30-11, and 30-21. The loss moves the Swords to 8-7 overall, 3-2 in PacWest play and improves BYUH to 13-2 and 6-0 on the season.
On the night, Chaminade hit just .017 compared to the Seasiders .303. Kahala Kabalis led the way for the Swords with 11 kills while Patti Hardimon and Valasi Sepulona each added 6.
BYUH was led by Silvia Oliveira and Yi Lin Chun combined for 34 of BYUH's 52 kills.
The two teams face each other again tomorrow night at McCabe Gymnasium. Game time is set for 7:30 PM
