Volleyball Splits at CPP Tournament

Pomona, CA - The Silverswords split their matches on the opening day of the Cal Poly Pomona Tournament. Chaminade lost to Findlay, 3-1, in a competitive match. Findlay took the first two games, 30-23 and 30-27, but Chaminade bounced back for a 30-18 victory in game three before finally giving way 35-33 in the fourth game. Kahala Kabalis had a match-high 18 kills to go with a dozen digs. Patti Hardimon added 16 kills with a .448 hitting percentage.

The Swords capped off the day with an exciting 3-2 win over host Cal Poly Pomona, 30-26, 30-21, 24-30, 18-30, 15-13. Kabalis had her third double-double of the season with 15 kills and 13 digs. Valasi Sepulona led all players with 19 kills and a .400 hitting percentage.

CU is slated to face Alaska-Fairbanks at 11:00 a.m. and Cal State-L.A. at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday in Pomona.
