The Silverswords downed Western New Mexico for the second time, winning a low scoring game, 61-52. CU improves to 2-3 in the PacWest and 5-10 overall. WNMU dropped to 0-5 in the conference and 3-12 overall.
Nick Frey led the Swords with a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Donald Rogers added 11 points, and Jason Walters finished with nine. Chaminade shot 48-percent from the field and 79-percent from the free throw line while holding WNMU to just 33-percent shooting from the field.
The Mustangs were led by Matt Enriquez's 18 points. Enriquez was 0-of-7 from 3-point range, but 8-of-10 from the free throw line. Jason Jackson finished with ten points, making two of the Mustangs' three 3-pointers in the game.
The Swords play at Montana State-Billings on Saturday. The Yellowjackets are 11-4 on the season, 3-2 in PacWest play. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
