Silver City, NM - The Chaminade University women's volleyball team split a pair of games with Western New Mexico this weekend. The Swords dropped Friday's meeting 3-1 (30-25, 28-30, 29-31, 31-33) but rallied back to sweep the Mustangs on Saturday, 3-0 (30-27, 30-25, 32-30).
In Friday's PacWest conference match Valasi Sepulona led the Swords with 21 kills. Kahala Kabalis and Patti Hardimon finished with 19 kills each in the Swords final conference game of the season. Suzanne Bruchhauser led the Mustangs with 17 kills on a .333 hitting percentage. Jennifer Snowbarger and Lindsay Morrison added 15 kills apiece and Liz Narkon had 10 kills and 15 digs for WNMU.
Sepulona led the Chaminade on Saturday with 20 kills and added 13 digs. Kabalis knocked down 17 kills and Hardimon had 11 kills and six blocks in the non-conference meeting. Western New Mexico was paced by 13 kills from Liz Narkon...Jennifer Snowbarger added 7 kills and 8 digs.
The split brings the Silverswords record to 15-5 overall, 8-2 in PacWest play.
Chaminade returns to McCabe Gymnasium to face Hawaii Pacific in a non-conference match-up on November 6th. Game time is set for 2:00 PM.
