Honolulu, HI - The Chaminade University men's basketball team earned their 4th consecutive home win by defeating Western New Mexico University tonight, 88-81. The win is the third Silversword victory over WNMU this season and improves CU's record to 9-12 overall, 6-5 in PacWest play. The Mustangs fall to 7-17, 4-10.
Bryon Sykes led Chaminade with 19 points. Nick Frey tallied a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds and Donald Rogers added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Chaminade pounded the Mustangs inside, scoring 28 points in the paint compared to WNMU's 8 points. The Swords also shot 52% from the field while holding Western to 41% shooting. Matt Enriquez and Jason Jackson each scored 18 points to lead the Mustangs.
Chaminade travels to Hawaii Pacific on Tuesday night before hosting BYU-Hawaii on Saturday. Both games are set for 7:30 PM.
