Softball Shut Out at Hilo

Hilo, HI - Hawaii-Hilo swept Chaminade for the second time in as many days, taking a non-conference double-header, 3-0 and 1-0.

Sarah Steele pitched a complete game shutout in game one, scattering three hits over seven innings. Kayla Kahuli hit a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth, and Jennifer McCorkhill slapped a two RBI single in the fifth for the Vulcans' scoring. Loihi McKeague gave up seven hits and three earned runs in six innings for the loss.

Laura Kimborowicz drove in Lisa Jackson in the bottom of the first in game two for the only run scored in the game. Miki Asamura gave up six hits in seven innings, striking out four for the win. Donnell Wittekind took the loss, allowing six hits and one run over six innings.

Chaminade is in action again on Saturday versus Hawaii Pacific.
