Laie, HI - The Chaminade University volleyball team swept #24 ranked BYU-Hawaii in Laie last weekend, 3-0 (30-22, 30-27, 30-27). Chaminade improved to 7-2, 2-0 in PacWest play and the Seasiders fell to 6-4, 0-2 in conference.
Kahala Kabalis led the Swords with 18 kills and Valasi Sepulona added 11 kills and 9 digs. Nikolina Rastovac dished out 30 assists and Kalae Araujo tallied 21 digs on the night.
BYUH matched Chaminade's 44 kills and the Seasiders and the out-hit the Swords .140 to .132 on the night. However, Chaminade logged 11 service aces compared to BYUH's 3 and collected 60 digs to the Seasiders 48 on the night, leading to the 3-0 sweep.
Chaminade is in action again on Friday September 24th against Hawaii Pacific. Game time is set for 7:30 PM in McCabe Gymnasium.
