Honolulu, HI - The Chaminade University men's basketball team beat Western New Mexico University for the second time in three days, 86-63. Chaminade is now 4-0 in PacWest play, 10-4 on the season. The Mustangs fall to 0-3, 5-8 overall.
The Mustangs held a 3 point lead with 16:53 remaining in the first half before the Swords went on a 37-17 run to take a 40-20 lead with 3:05 to play in the half.
Nick Frey led the Swords with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Dustin Mittelsteadt added a double- double of his own with 10 points and 11 boards. Corey Campbell scored 15 points and Chris Reaves added 10. Zack Whiting chipped in 12 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds while committing only 1 turnover in the game.
The Swords take on Hawaii Pacific University on Tuesday January 11th at the Neil Blaisdell Center at 7:30 PM.
