CUH Drops Match to Conference Rival HPU

Honolulu, HI- The Silverswords fell to the Sea Warriors of Hawaii Pacific in three straight games, 30-17, 30-13, and 30-27 this Saturday evening.

Playing without outside hitter and starter, Marijana Stanic, the Swords struggled to get anything going offensively. HPU out hit CUH in all three games, and were led by Barbara Martin's 13 kills. Annie Lanoza led the defensive effort for Chaminade with 11 digs, while both Trina Kauliakamoa and Kara Smith contributed 8 kills apiece in the loss.

For the match, HPU out hit the Lady Swords .292 to .058 and won the blocking battle with CUH 10 to 1. The loss drops Chaminade to 8-7 on the year, while HPU is now 12-1. Chaminade is back in action next weekend with a weekend doubleheader against the Vulcans of UH-Hilo. Game time, both Friday and Saturday is 7:30 PM at McCabe Gym.
