Chaminade Falls in Final Home Match of Season

Honolulu, HI- Chaminade fell to BYU-Hawaii by scores of 30-21, 30-23 and 30-26 in an emotional senior night at McCabe Gym.

The Swords were led by freshman Trina Kauliakamoa with 13 kills along with an impressive 14 digs. Running the offense were Niko Rastovac with 15 assists while Tamara Kauliakamoa added 13 in the loss. Britnee Fonnesbeck contributed four total blocks along with 8 kills for the Swords.

BYU-Hawaii was led by their senior outside hitter Yu Chuan Weng who had 27 kills on the evening, to go along with 8 digs. LeeAnn Mapu added 40 assists While Lesina Funaki and Heitiare Wallace added 16 and 14 kills respectively. BYU improves to 18-3 on the year.

This evening's game was a special one, as Chaminade said aloha and mahalo to their lone senior, defensive specialist Amy Sumida. A crowd of 400 spectators came to say thank you to yet another outstanding Chaminade Silversword.

CUH will be on the road next week, but still close to home, as they travel to Hawaii Pacific on Tuesday and Wednesday. First serve is set for 7:30 PM. The Swords are currently 9-12 on the year.
