Monmouth, OR- Chaminade defeated Western Oregon 85-73 in their final game in a three game road trip that started the day after Thanksgiving.
CUH led by 10 at the break and never trailed in the second half as they handled Western Oregon in the 2005 Red Lion Holiday Classic. Chris Reaves led the Swords with 19 points and 6 rebounds, while Zack Whiting added 15 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds in the win. Dylan McCune continued his hot shooting, adding 4 three's on the evening and 15 points overall.
Stewart Kussler added 10 points and 5 rebounds, while the Swords outrebounded the Wolves 34-28 on the evening. Corey Campbell and Chris Powell added 9 points a piece to help the balanced attack. CUH continued their hot shooting, as they shot 59% from the field on the night.
Western Oregon was led by Travis Kuhns with 22 points.
Zack Whiting was named tournament MVP, while Chris Reaves was named to the All-Tournament team. Chaminade improves to 2-4 on the year, 2-1 vs. Division II opponents. The Swords return home to play Cal Baptist on Dec. 8 at 7:30 PM.
