Laie, HI - The Chaminade University women's softball team split a Pacific West Conference doubleheader with BYU-Hawaii today, losing the first game, 4-1, before winning the rematch 11-2. The Swords are currently 8-17 overall and 2-4 in PacWest play.
Chaminade scored one run in the 3rd and held that lead until the 4th when BYUH scored two runs and follwed with two additional runs in the 6th to take the first game.
Game two was all Chaminade as the Swords scored four runs in the 3rd, once in the 5th, and put the game away with six more runs in the 7th, highlighted by a grand slam off the bat of Loihi McKeague. Annaliese Moergeli pitched four-plus innings for the win.
