Phoenix, AZ- Behind a career effort from Marko Kolaric, along with plenty of help from his teammates, Chaminade defeated #15 Grand Canyon by a score of 103-92.
Chaminade got out to an early lead, only to see Grand Canyon continue to comeback. The Swords got out due to some hot shooting and finished shooting 49% from the floor and 43% from the arc. The Chaminade bench was a huge factor, scoring 53 points as a threesome. Marko Kolaric filled in for a foul-plagued Chris Powell and had a career high in both points (21) and rebounds (16). Chris Nelson added 15 points, and Corey Campbell and Chris Reaves each added 17.
Zack Whiting added to the cause in numerous categories with 16 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds. Grand Canyon was led by Rich Davis with 26 points and Ryan Nelson with a game high 17 assists. With the win, the Swords improve to 14-5 on the year, Grand Canyon falls to 15-5.
Chaminade continues the road trip at Cal-State Dominguez Hills on Monday night at 7:30 pm.
