Honolulu, HI- In a match up pitting the top two teams in the Pac West Conference, Chaminade fell to the Seasiders of BYU-Hawaii in three games 30-21, 30-24, 30-22.
Game one started out tight with the game 13-12 Seasiders before a 9-1 run brought the game to 22-13 BYU and the Seasiders took the 1-0 advantage.
Game two was tight throughout as the hitting proved to be strong on both sides as Chaminade hit a blistering .481 while BYU-Hawaii matched that by hitting .515 for game two. The game was 24-22 when BYU-Hawaii went on a 6-2 run to finish off the game.
Chaminade fell in game three, but was close again, leading 13-12, tied at 18-18 until the final of 30-22.
The Lady Swords were led by Tamara Kauliakamoa with 30 assists, Trina Kauliakamoa with 9 kills and 9 digs and Brittnee Fonnesbeck with 10 kills while hitting a team high .429. Vanja Radanovic came up big with the solo blocks on the night.
The Seasiders were led by Michelle Peters with 20 kills and LeeAnn Mapu with 53 assists.
The Swords fall to 12-4 overall, 7-2 in the Pac West, while the Seasiders improve to 14-0, 10-0 in the conference. Chaminade heads on the road to play Grand Canyon on October 16th in Phoenix, AZ.
