Hilo, HI- In the 2006 Pac West Championships, Lisa Castle put in a great effort, finishing fourth amongst thirty-four runners with a time of 25:45 in the 6k race.
Also on the women's side, Deanne Soon finished in 20th place with a time of 27:43. Rachel Martin finished in 29:32, while fellow Lady Sword Jamie Knaus finished in 30:35. Inga Burger of HPU finished first with a time of 24:56.
On the men's side, Keiichi Matsumoto led the Swords with a time of 29:29 in the men's 8k race. Fellow Swords, Toby Castro and Ehren Ching finished right behind with times of 29:37 and 29:41 respectively. Todd Iacovelli from Hawaii Pacific won individually on the men's side with a time of 25:06.
In the team event, BYU-Hawaii took the men's side with a 38 point team total, while UH-Hilo won the women's side with 35 total points.
The Swords are back in action at the NCAA West Regionals, hosted by Chico State University on Saturday, November 4th. The men will run 10k; the women will run a 6k with times to be determined.
