Oct. 8, 2006

Box Score

Honolulu, HI- In a rematch of Thursday's 3-1 UH-Hilo victory, the tide turned drastically on a hot St. Louis field at Chaminade University as the Vulcans tried to come from behind to score a 2-2 draw.

Chaminade scored first off the foot of Alisan Altz as Kuulei Agbayani put a pass on the money, which Altz put away for the 1-0 lead heading to the half. UH-Hilo answered with a score by Kelly White to start the second off an assist by Jessica Carvalho.

Kuulei Agbayani put Chaminade back on top with a beautiful shot that could not be saved as it dropped in the top left corner and gave CUH the lead. The Lady Swords held that lead for nearly 30 minutes as intense offensive pressure was put on by the Vulcans. With just over five minutes left in regulation, UH-Hilo got the score they were looking for from Jessica Carvalho as Karen Weatherby got the assist.

With the temperature on the field well over ninety degrees, the teams headed for overtime. Although both teams had opportunities, neither team could get the decisive goal and the game finished in a 2-2 tie.

Michelle Halloran had 15 big saves in the draw. Jessica Carvalho added 4 saves to go along with a goal and an assist in the field for the Vulcans.

Chaminade improves to 0-5-1 on the year; UH-Hilo goes to 4-4-1. CUH now heads to the mainland for a three game swing starting with Notre Dame de Namur on October 12th. Game time is set for 2:00 PM.
