Honolulu, HI- In a rematch from nearly a month earlier, Central Washington defeated Chaminade by a score of 68-47.
Chaminade hung tough early, down ten points most of the first half, before a late CWU run put the lead at 19 points, 43-24 at the break.
The Swords were led by the scoring of Simrin Cummins and Katherine Carlisle, who finished in double figures with 16 and 13 points respectively. Samantha Saito added 7 points to go along with 4 assists and 5 steals.
CUH took advantage at the free throw line to stay close, shooting 82% on the evening.
The Wildcats were led by Elyse Mengarelli who had 17 points on 5-9 shooting from the field. Laura Wright added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the win. CWU won the battle of the boards 46-20.
With the loss, Chaminade falls to 1-5. Central Washington moves to 8-1 with the win.
Next up for the Swords is national power, Holy Family on December 19th. Game time is set for 4PM at McKinley High.
