Honolulu, HI- Chaminade had a tough challenge facing a ten win Dixie State team. The Rebels got their eleventh win tonight with a 75-39 win over the Swords.
CUH was within eleven, 25-14 late in the first half, and was down 31-16 at the break. The Swords could have been closer, but managed just 5-11 from the free throw line. Dixie State was 12-18 from the charity stripe in the first half.
The Rebels were able to slow down Brittnee Fonnesbeck, who was held to ten points, well below her season average, while Rebel guard Tiara Bowman exploded in the second half for 14 points and 20 points overall. Dixie State used a 22-6 run to start the second half to put the game out of reach.
Chaminade falls to 2-9 overall, while Dixie State improves to 11-7.
The Swords now head back to Pac West conference play, their next game featuring conference rival, the Seasiders of BYU-Hawaii, on January 11th at McCabe Gym. Game time is set for 5:30 PM with the men to follow. Both the women and the men's game will be televised by OC16.
