Chaminade Women's Basketball Falls To NDNU 53-63

Belmont, CA- Playing the first of two road conference games against Notre Dame De Namur the Swords fell 53-63. Despite a solid performance offensively from Brittnee Fonnesbeck, turning in a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds, CUH could not climb back to take their first road win.

The Swords came out strong in the first half, holding a 5 point lead with six minutes to go before the break. The Argos battled back before half and took an 8 point margin into the locker room.

Out of the break NDNU spread the lead to as many as 22, but the Swords would not back down and cut the lead to as few as 7 with a minute and half to go. The lead was to much down the stretch, the Argos held the Swords off taking the win by a margin of 10, 53-63.

CUH was led by Brittnee Fonnesbeck with 20 points and pulled down 15 boards. Simrin Cummins added 15 points followed by Katherine Carlisle with 11. Samantha Saito added 8 assists.

Ashley Wilson led all Argos with had 19 points and was one of four with 6 rebounds

Chaminade falls to 2-12 on the year, while Notre Dame De Namur moves to 4-12 overall.

The Swords take one NDNU again January 18, 2007 Game time is set for 5:30 PM PST in Belmont, CA.
