Honolulu, HI- In their first Pac West conference game of the season, Chaminade fell to the Vulcans of the University of Hawaii at Hilo by a final score of 81-58
Chaminade came out strong to start the game. The Swords took the lead one minute into the game and would not relinquish it until the clock was under the five minute mark in the first half. Halley Moseley tied the game at 25 and it was UH-Hilo who would take a six point lead into halftime, a lead they would never give up.
The Swords were led by Brittnee Fonnesbeck and Katherine Carlisle who had 18 and 15 points respectively.  Fonnesbeck also led the team in rebounds, pulling down 8 in just 25 minutes of play.
The Vulcans were led by Sheila Azevedo with 20 points in just 21 minutes.
With this loss CUH falls to 1-8 on the year and UH-Hilo improves to 2-6.
The two teams meet again on Saturday afternoon in McCabe Gym. Game time is set for 12:00 PM.
