Honolulu, HI- The Silverswords not only battled against the HPU Sea warriors today, but they had to endure on again an off again rain shower for most of the game. The Silverswords kept the game within reach heading into halftime, trailing only 2-0.
The Silverswords took the wet, sloppy field for the second half, hoping to gain momentum against the Sea Warriors. However, the Sea Warriors contributed 3 more goals in the second half. At this point, trailing 5-0 turned out to be too much for the Silverswords, as they couldn't muster any goals for the remainder of the game.
Goal Keeper Darren Smith had 4 saves in the game. The Silverswords never gave up and fought courageously until the end.
The two of the five goals for HPU were scored by Andre Whitt. Thimo Langner contributed a goal, so did Matt Martinez and Akihde Adachi also scored. Brandon Ray had two assists, Jim Terry had one and Andre Whitt also had one for the Sea Warriors.
The Sea Warriors out shot the Silverswords 12 to 4.
With the loss, the Silverswords move to 2-13-1 overall, 0-8 in the Pac West. HPU improves their record to 6-8 overall, 4-4 in the Pac West. The Silverswords take on the Antelopes of Grand Canyon on Monday, October 29th at St. Louis Field. Kick off is scheduled for 12:00PM HST.
