Chaminade Battles, But Falls to HPU 3-0

Kaneohe, HI- The Swords are still fighting to get over the hump. Chaminade Men's Soccer was competitive again yesterday but fell short against conference leader HPU in Kaneohe by a score of 3-0.

Chaminade was down just 1-0 at the break after a Toni Bakken goal put the Sea Warriors up 1-0 in the 11th minute.

The Swords had a few chances during the match as both Jason Gomez and Marvin Mendoza forced HPU keeper Matt Terry into saves.

The second half saw HPU score two more goals to put the game out of reach, as Max Anton and Adam Rieke added goals for the SeaWarriors.

Darren Smith had seven saves in the loss.

CUH is now 2-11-1, 0-5 in the Pac West with the loss, while HPU moves to 4-3, 4-0 in the Pac West.

Chaminade is back in action on October 20th at 1:30pm vs. BYU-Hawaii in Laie. Chaminade Women's Soccer will lead off the doubleheader at 11am.
