CUH Softball Drops Two To Dixie State

Kailua, HI -Chaminade dropped both games of their double header to the Rebels of Dixie State at Kailua High School. Struggling at the plate, the Swords were out hit twenty five to eight on the afternoon and fell 9-1 and 16-5.

The first game started off with defense, neither team scoring a run in two complete innings. The Rebels came out hitting to start the top of the third scoring four runs to go on top of the Silverswords. Chaminade did not answer until the bottom of the sixth with a run of their own. It was to little to late as Dixie State finished the game in six innings 9-1.

Dixie started the second game with four runs in the first inning, but Chaminade answered with four of their own to tie it up in the bottom of the inning. The Rebels added four more runs in the top of the second and seven more in the top of the fourth inning, finishing off with one run in the top of the fifth. The only added one more run of their own in the bottom of the fourth inning dropping the second game 16-5.

The Silverswords were led by Carolyn Fisher with four hits and one RBI on the afternoon, Fisher also pitched ten plus innings and threw over two hundred and twenty pitches.

The Rebels were led by McIntyre and Vance with five hits each on the afternoon, with Vance racking up as many RBI's.

With the losses, Chaminade falls to 7-36 on the year, while Dixie State moves to 46-12 with the victory.

Chaminade faces the University of Hawaii, Tuesday, April 17, at UH-Manoa. First pitch is set for 5:00PM.
