Swords Softball Drop Four In Tournament Of Champions

Turlock, CA - The Chaminade Softball team finished off the four game tournament in Turlock, California with a 10-2 loss to California State Monterey Bay.

Chaminade finished off their long road trip Sunday with a loss to Cal State Monterey Bay in the Tournament of Champions. The three-day, 66-game tournament, featured 20 NCAA Division II teams from the West Region.

The Silverswords opened and closed the action against the otters, dropping the opening game 8-2 and the final game 10-2. CUH also faced conference foe Notre Dame De Namur falling 13-5 in five innings.

The Swords came the closest to victory against UC San Diego, scoring three runs in the fourth inning to knot the game at 5-5. Chaminade could not hold on though giving up 3 runs in the next two innings to fall 8-5.

Chaminade falls to 7-28 on the year.

Chaminade is back home April 7, to face Hawaii Pacific University in a double header at Central Oahu Regional Park. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00PM.
