Chaminade Women's Soccer Downed by Wildcats 5-1

Honolulu, HI- The season starts with a lead. Geri Tennessen got the Swords off to a great start as she finished off a pass from Alicia Castillo to put CUH ahead 1-0 in the season opener.

Central Washington, picked 5th in the GNAC preseason poll, took over from there. Five minutes after Tennessen scored, Michelle Beatie answered for Central Washington to tie the match at 1-1.

Kelsey Penn then scored her first of three goals at 38:34 to take a 2-1 lead for CWU at the break.

Chelsea Lovin added a goal, along with two more goals for Penn for the final score of 5-1. Marissa Minor was tough in goal, stopping 13 shots for Chaminade.

Chaminade is back in action at 10 AM tomorrow against Embry-Riddle (AZ) at St. Louis Field in the first game of a double header. The Chaminade men follow at 12PM. Please check out www.goswords.com for live stat updates on the respective team pages and game schedules.
