Laie, HI- Deanne Soon led the way for the Swords in the 2007 Chaminade Invitational. Soon finished the 5k event with a time of 20:57. Joelle Tanaka was the Lady Swords next best finisher with a time of 20:57, good for 21st overall. Chantelle Wilder of UH-Manoa won the event running the 5k in 18:31. As a team, BYU-Hawaii won with a team score of 38 points.
On the men's side, CUH was led by Toby Castro, who ran a time of 30:16 in the 8k, good for 15th place, right behind him in 16th place was Tyler Pickle, who ran a 30:52. Individually, Goldern Harper of BYU-Hawaii won the event in 26:57. As a team, Hawaii Pacific won the men's event, just edging out UH-Hilo by one point as the Sea Warriors managed to go lower, scoring 34 points to the Vulcans 35.
The Swords are back in action at the Big Wave Invitational, hosted by UH-Manoa in Kaneohe, HI. The event is scheduled for next Saturday, September 22nd at Klipper Golf Course. The men will run a 5Kevent at 7:30 AM, followed by the women in a 4K event at 7:50 AM
