Belmont, CA- The distance is shrinking. Chaminade Men's Soccer came up short in a hard fought contest against the Argos of NDNU this afternoon by a score of 2-0.
The score was nearly knotted 0-0 at the break, however, Sean Fogt got his second goal of the year in the 42nd minute for the Argos, and NDNU went into the locker room up 1-0.
The Swords had a few chances, forcing Sheldon Steenhuis into two saves, but a goal by Russell McCluskey off a corner put the game out of reach.
Darren Smith was stellar in goal, making 10 saves and stuffing a penalty kick.
Chaminade falls to 0-7-1 on the year, while NDNU improves to 4-4.
The Swords are back in action at Grand Canyon on September 20th. Game time is set for 7:30 PM.
