Phoenix, AZ- It happened. It happened in a big way. In the fourth game of a five game mainland road swing, Chaminade took down Southwestern College of Phoenix (AZ) 9-2 yesterday evening as seven players scored for the Swords.
Jason Gomez and Tony Palacios each scored two goals a piece in the victory. The five other goals were scored by Tim Stipo, TJ Meyer, Chad Nishikuni, Kyle Brouse and Marc Contee.
The Swords have been competitive in numerous games, but Saturday's win marks the first victory in twenty five tries for Chaminade's two-year old Men's Soccer program.
With the win, Chaminade improves to 1-8-1 on the season. The Swords are back in action this evening against Embry-Riddle (AZ) in Prescott, AZ at 6:00 PM MT. Chaminade had a very tight game with the Eagles on August 30th in a 3-2 loss in Honolulu.
