Honolulu, HI- Chaminade had it's work cut out today against the CCAA's Chico State in a tough 4-1 defeat. CSU came to Chaminade fresh off a 2-1 victory over HPU this past weekend.
The Wildcats got on the board early scoring two goals, one each by AJ Carboneau and Gavin Edgell to go up 2-0 at the break.
Chaminade did not quit, as TJ Meyer cut the lead in half on a header in the 52 minute off a throw in by Tim Stipo. The Swords kept battling, but it wasn't enough as Chico State added two insurance goals from Zac Grim and Garrett McCall for the 4-1 victory.
Darren Smith had seven saves in defeat for the Swords.
Chaminade falls to 0-3 on the year, while Chico State improves 2-3 on the year. The Swords play next on Wednesday. Game time is set for noon at St. Louis Field.
