Belmont, CA- Road wins are hard to come by. Tonight was no different, as Chaminade defeated the Argos 56-53 in a close game in Walter Gleason Gym.
Chaminade was led by senior center,
Mohamed Tangara, who led with 20 points on 9-13 shooting. Tangara also added 10 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Joel Smith added 10 points, while holding Dan Bergeron to only 4 points on the night.
The Swords dominated the glass, winning the battle of the boards 42-32. Chaminade grabbed 15 offensive rebounds.
CUH needs to regain its shooting touch, as the Swords were ice-cold from three, shooting 1-17 on the night.
Darrell Birton led with 4 assists.
Bennie Murray led the Argos with 16 points. NDNU was a perfect 12-12 from the line.
With the win, Chaminade moves to 4-6 overall and 1-1 in Pac West play. The Argos fall to 4-8 and 1-1 in the Pac West. The Swords are back in action on January 9th as they face Grand Canyon in Phoenix, AZ. Game time is set for 7:30 PM (local time).
