Hilo, HI- Another Pac West battle in the books. The Swords held off a spirited Vulcan team in UHH Gymnasium, beating the Vulcans by a score of 66-63.
Chaminade used a balanced attack as six Swords contributed 8 or more points to the cause. Junior
Chandler Pearson led the way with 14 points and 6 rebounds, while
Steven Bennett and
Dominique Cooks each added 13 points in the win. The Swords three inside players:
Shane Hanson,
Zach Johnson and
Matt Cousins each scored 8 points a piece. Johnson added 6 rebounds in the victory.
The Swords won the rebounding battle 33-28 and connected on 75% of their free throw attempts.
Justin Smith led the way for the Vulcans, making all 9 of his field goal attempts, scoring 20 points.
The Swords conclude their season at 10-15, 7-9 in Pac West play, finishing tied for fifth in the conference. Hawaii-Hilo finishes at 13-13, 7-9 in Pac West play as well.
