CUH MBB: Chaminade Back on Winning Track, Defeat NDNU 84-77

Five Swords have double-figures in the win

HONOLULU, HI- Chaminade defeated NDNU tonight at McCabe Gym by a score of 84-77.     
 
The Swords took a 40-33 lead into halftime, as De'Andre Haskins (Long Beach, CA/Jordan) had 11 first half points for Chaminade. The Swords were red-hot from three, knocking down ten threes at 56%. Chaminade also won the battle of the glass 39-32 on the night.
 
Junior center Mamadou Diarra (Bamako, Mali/Stoneridge) had an impressive double-double, with 16 points, 11 rebounds while also blocking 3 shots. Sophomore guard Waly Coulibaly (Bamako, Mali/Patterson Prep) was solid knocking down two threes, scoring 10 points to go along with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Senior Shane Hanson (Canyon Lake, CA/Temescal Canyon) continued his hot shooting from with 17 points and 6 rebounds, while going 5-5 from three.  
 
The Swords held NDNU to 42% shooting on the game. Sophomore guard Dominique Cooks (Wollongong, AUS/ Holy Spirit College) filled up the stat sheet for CUH; scoring 13 points along with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in thirty-one minutes.    
 
Chaminade looked to be blowing out the Argos early in the second half, going up by twenty points, but NDNU continued to fight and the game tightened up in the final minutes, before Chaminade closed the game out 84-77.
 
NDNU was led by junior Aaron Mollet with 18 points on 8-16 shooting in the defeat.
