LAHAINA, Maui, Hawai'i – The 2025 Maui Invitational field was announced on Tuesday, marking the return of the Chaminade University men's basketball team to the Lahaina Civic Center.
The Silverswords, who have not played in Lahaina since the 2019 tournament, will be part of yet another outstanding field which will take place from Nov. 24-26. They are joined by:
- Baylor, the 2021 national champions.
- North Carolina State, which made a Cinderella run to this past season's Final Four.
- Oregon, the 2023-24 Pac-12 champions.
- Seton Hall, the 2023-24 NIT champions.
- Texas, a regular in the Big Dance with 22 appearances in the last 25 tournaments.
- UNLV, a Mountain West Conference power.
- USC, one of the rising basketball programs on the west coast.
The 'Swords' last two Maui Invitational appearances were at relocated venues: 2021 in Las Vegas due to the pandemic; and 2023 in Honolulu when the Lahaina Civic Center was used as an emergency facility after the deadly Lahaina wildfires in August.
The Silverswords' last game in Lahaina was an 80-77 loss to Georgia when current NBA star Anthony Edwards hit the game-winning 3-pointer with less than a second remaining.
This year's field, which will be in Lahaina and is the 41st edition, features Auburn, Colorado, Dayton, Iowa State, Memphis, Michigan State, North Carolina and two-time defending national champion UConn. Chaminade plays in the tournament every odd year.
