Trevor Ichimura joined the Chaminade University baseball team as the pitching coach in the summer of 2026 after spending the previous two years (2025-26) as a graduate assistant at the University of Hawai'i.

In his first year as a grad assistant, Ichimura helped the Rainbows win 35 games, the first back-to-back 35-win seasons for the program since 1991-92.

Before joining the coaching staff, he was spent five years at UH (2020-24) as a member of the pitching staff. He also spent his true freshman year of 2019 at Washington State University. In all, Ichimura had 29 career appearance at UH and WSU, all out of the bullpen. In his three years as a Rainbow, he played in 22 games, tossing 39.0 innings with 24 strikeouts and just nine walks.

His sophomore year of 2022 saw him compile a 2.13 ERA in five appearances. On Feb. 28 of that year, Ichimura threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings in a 16-inning win over San Diego State, the longest game in UH history. In 2021, he earned Academic All-Big West Conference honors.

Ichimura is a 2018 graduate of Iolani School. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics and Master's in Education at UH.
