Ryan Shields Vega was a surprise first round co-leader at the Pacific West Conference Men’s Golf Championships in Litchfield Park, Ariz., on April 18. The freshman shot a 3-under-par 69 was one of three atop the leaderboard after the first 18 holes and finished the championships with a team-low 232.
