Madelyn Stockslager won both games in the ’Swords’ season-opening doubleheader at Hawai‘i Pacific University on March 7, tossing 9 2/3 innings with 12 strikeouts and allowing just two earned runs. In her Game 1 start, she broke the single-game strikeout record with 11 then came out of the bullpen in the nightcap and kept the Sharks bats in check, allowing the Silverswords to rally in the sixth inning. It is believed to be the first-ever sweep of HPU since the program began in 1988.
