BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Silverswords wrapped up a week long road trip with a pair of losses at the Cal State Bakersfield tournament last weekend.
In game one, Chaminade faced a suffocating defensive effort that led the Cal State Bakersfield men's basketball team to 67-46 win.
The Swords took the early 9-7 lead before the Roadrunners held CU to just one field goal over the balance of the half. CSUB out-scored the Swords 28-5 during that stretch to put the game out of reach.
Roy Stigall and Nick Frey led Chaminade with nine points apiece.
In the second day of the tournament CU dropped to Fort Lewis college 84-79. Fort Lewis shot 57-percent from the field while holding the struggling Swords to 45-percent.
Kashif Reyes scored a season-high 25 points in the loss while Nick Frey and Chris Acker added 15 and 11 respectively.
The loss drops Chaminade to 1-6 on the season. The Swords will look to get back on track after Christmas when they host Chapman and Doane.
