Pomona, CA - The Silverswords earned a weekend split at the Cal Poly Pomona tournament with a win over Fairbanks and a loss to CSULA. CU finished the opening week of the season with a 3-2 record with three tough matches on the schedule for next week.
Against Fairbanks, Kahala Kabalis knocked down a match-high 21 kills and added nine digs in the winning effort. Kabalis had 21 kills and ten digs against Cal State-L.A. to finish the week with 99 kills in five matches. Complete stats were unavailable.
The Swords return home to face Barry University, UC San Diego, and Saint Mary's on Sept. 4th & 5th in McCabe Gymnasium.
