Swords Fall to BYU-Hawaii

The Chaminade University men's basketball team fought a tough battle but the Seasiders shot a staggering 93% from the field in the second half to come away with a 70-66 victory. BYUH also converted on 22 of 35 free throws compared to CU's 14 of 18 on the game.

Chaminade was led by Kashif Reyes with 18 points including 4-8 from behind the arc. Jason Walters chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds and Donald Makupson added 13 points and 3 rebounds.

The loss brings the Swords to 2-10 on the season while BYUH improves to 14-2 and has yet to lose to a Division II team this season.

The Silverswords take to the road tomorrow on a three-state, four-game road trip beginning with a non-conference meeting with Southwestern College in Phoenix, AZ on Saturday. CU then travels to Western New Mexico for two conference games before finishing the 10-day trip at Montana State Billings on January 24th.
