Honolulu, HI - It took three overtime periods to determine the outcome of the Chaminade versus Hawaii Pacific game tonight at the Neil Blaisdell Center. The Sea Warriors edged the Swords 121-119 for the win.
Hawaii Pacific's guards combined for 100 points compared to the Swords 74. They shot 48% from three-point land to Chaminade's 38% and turned the ball over 13 times compared to the Swords 20 turnovers.
Chris Nelson hit a 3-pointer with 3 seconds to play in regulation to send the game into the first overtime. Zack Whiting led CU with 27 points, 8 assists and 8 rebounds.
The two teams face off again on Thursday night at McCabe Gymnasium at 7:30 PM. All proceeds will go to Tsumani relief.
