Chaminade Falls In Five Games To Vulcans

Hilo, HI- In an effort indicative of the fight in the Lady Swords all season, Chaminade took the UH-Hilo Vulcans to five games last night in a PacWest Conference showdown. Chaminade fell 30-28, 16-30, 27-30, 30-28, 10-15 in the hard fought affair.

Chaminade was very balanced offensively, with numerous players stepping up. Trina Kauliakamoa, Christina Williams, Britnee Fonnesbeck and Lila Sapolu all had double digit kills on the evening. Kauliakamoa and Williams led the charge with 19 and 16 kills respectively. Nikolina Rastovac and Tamara Kauliakamoa helped to direct the offensive attack with a combined 52 assists, 38 for Rastovac and 14 for Tamara Kauliakamoa.

The Lady Swords also out dug the Vulcans 99-90 in the match. Annie Lanoza led with an impressive 31 digs on the evening. Four other Swords were also in double digit digs, as Chaminade refused to back down.

Rose Ramsey led the Vulcans with 24 kills on the evening. With the loss, the Lady Swords fall to 9-15 overall and the Vulcans are 13-11 on the year.

Chaminade is back in action tonight in their final game of the season against the UH-Hilo Vulcans. First serve is set for 7:15 PM at the UHH Gymnasium in Hilo, HI.
