Chaminade Falls in Three Hard-Fought Games

Nov. 2, 2005

Honolulu, HI- In a battle of Honolulu schools, Hawaii Pacific defeated Chaminade University in three games, 32-30, 30-20, and 30-20.

Chaminade came out in the first game playing like a team on a mission, and took a large lead. HPU responded, and the back and forth game needed extra points to be decided. HPU then took games two and three with duplicate scores of 30-20. For the Lady Swords, Trina Kauliakamoa showed why she is one of the future stars of the conference with 14 kills on the evening, with many kills including setters Nikolina Rastovac and Tamara Kauliakamoa, who had 27 and 10 assists respectively. Annie Lanoza had 13 digs on the evening, while Britnee Fonnesbeck and Lila Sapolu were in on 4 blocks a piece.

Hawaii Pacific was led by Barbara Martin with 22 kills. The two teams face off again Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM at the Neal Blaisdell Arena. Chaminade is now 9-13 on the year, while HPU moves to 20-1.
