Honolulu, HI- In the first game back off of holiday break, Chaminade handled St. Johns (MN) by a final score of 95-70 in an afternoon game at McCabe Gym.
The Swords were up by 21 points at the break, 56-35, and were up by 30 points most of the second half. Chris Reaves led Chaminade with 22 points in 23 minutes of action. Three other Swords were in double figures, with Corey Campbell and Dylan McCune each with 15 points, while Zack Whiting added 13 points and 7 assists. Campbell added 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the winning effort.
Chaminade shot 50% from the field and 87% (20-23) from the line, while out-rebounding the Johnnies 48-30.
With the win, the Swords improve to 6-4, while St. John's drops to 5-4 on the year. Chaminade is currently on a five game win streak.
CUH returns to action tomorrow afternoon versus Morningside College of Iowa. Morningside is currently ranked #25 in the latest NAIA Division II poll. Game time is set for 1pm. Tomorrow will be the second game of four games in four days for Chaminade, all at McCabe Gym.
