Chaminade Tops Chapman

Honolulu, HI- Playing their third game in as many days, Chaminade took care of the Panthers of Chapman University 80-62.

Chapman started off strong, leading early. Chaminade went to the bench, taking out all their starters and took a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the night. CUH lead 41-26 at the half, and the lead stayed their or greater the rest of the way.

Chris Nelson led the charge for the Swords for the second night in a row, shooting 7-10 from the field, good for 17 points. Dylan McCune added 12 points on 4-5 shooting from the arc, while Chris Powell added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the win. The Swords out-rebounded Chapman by 10 and shot 69% from the floor on the night, 56% from the arc.

Chapman was led by Patrick Carney who had 21 points on the evening. With the win Chaminade improves to 8-4, winners of 7 in a row, and 19 straight at McCabe Gym. Chapman falls to 8-5 on the year.

The Swords still have the final leg of a four games in four days homestand. Tip is set for tomorrow at 3pm against Division II Cheyney University of Pennsylvania.
