Chaminade Upset To End Road Trip

Carson, CA- After defeating #15 ranked Grand Canyon just two days earlier, Chaminade fell victim to an aggressive, hot shooting Toro team in the Toro Dome on the campus of Cal-State Dominguez Hills.

The Swords were led by Chris Reaves with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, along with Chris Nelson with 20 points on the evening. Chris Powell added 17 points, while Zack Whiting added 12 points and 8 assists. All four CUH players were making a return trip to their home state of California. Chaminade shot 53% from the field, 54% from three and 100% from the free throw line, but CSU-DH answered shooting 54% from the field and 53% from three. On the season, Dominguez Hills was shooting 35% from the arc.

Dominguez Hills controlled the glass, outrebounding the Swords 37-24. Carlos Rivers led Dominguez Hills with 22 points in the victory.

With the loss, Chaminade falls to 14-6, while the Toros improve to 7-10 on the year. CUH returns home to face PacWest conference foe, BYU-Hawaii on Feb. 8th at 7:30 PM in McCabe Gym.
