Phoenix, AZ- The Lady Swords took care of Grand Canyon University in three games 30-19, 30-27, 30-19 to complete a season sweep of the `Lopes.
Chaminade was led offensively by Brittnee Fonnesbeck with 14 kills and Vanja Radanovic who added 11 kills in the win. Tamara Kauliakamoa added 32 assists for CUH.
The Swords controlled the match defensively as well, and outdug GCU 60-46 on the evening. Chelsea Powell led the Lady Swords with 17 digs, while Tamara Kauliakamoa added 10 digs in the victory.
Grand Canyon was led by Megan Taylor with 20 assists and Dana Edington with 8 kills in the loss.
The win continues Chaminade's push for an NCAA tournament berth, improving their record to 14-4 overall and 9-2 in PacWest conference play. Grand Canyon falls to 13-13 overall and 5-7 in the PacWest.
The Lady Swords stay on the road this week, heading to Belmont, California to face Notre Dame de Namur. Chaminade faces the Argos on both Thursday and Friday night this week. First serve is set for 7PM Pacific Time both evenings. The Argos are currently 10-19 overall and 0-10 in conference play.
