Honolulu, HI- There's no place like home. The first of eight straight home games proved to be anticlimactic with Chaminade University handling Presentation College of South Dakota by a score of 92-50 at McCabe Gym.
The Swords got out early up 7-2 in the opening minutes and that's as close as it got as CUH led 51-33 at the break and was up 40 most of the second half.
The Swords were hot early connecting on 63% of their shots from the floor and made 69% from three. CUH controlled the glass 40-25 on the afternoon. All-American candidate Zack Whiting led the way with 19 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds for his fourth triple-double of the year. Mike Green led all scorers with 21 points, hitting 7 of 8 three point attempts. Green was 7-7 from three with two minutes remaining in the game when a late in the shot clock attempt from three proved to be his lone miss.
Stewart Kussler added 17 points and 4 rebounds for the Swords.
Presentation was led by Michael Heim who scored 15 points in defeat. The Swords held the Saints to seventeen points in the second half, while scoring 41.
With the win, Chaminade improves to 5-4 on the year, while Presentation falls to 3-3.
